as above, has anyone have any experience of this using touch dim switching ?

how does it work 2 wayed using retractable switches.

i was under the impression i could have a touch dim dimmer one end and a normal 2 way switch the other end, however, the lights are doing funny things, ie dimming up when normal 2 way switch is pressed and not turning off from that switch also.
Is there some kind of slave unit needed here ?.
thanks in advance.

Hi , have you checked strappers and common connections are correct?
Does the dimmer unit work if you just wire it in as a one unit ( temporarily)
Is the unit designed for fluorescent operation ? it might need to be wired
differently inside the fitting and not just to mains input block , best of luck , Ken

I think you may need the second switch to be dimmable like your other switch.

Like other poster said. Temporary rewire the normal switch out of the circuit and try then

thanks guys, think its wired right, just all new to me, been reading up on them, its the actual ballast themselves which does the dimming - (phase angles n stuff), and just a wee snippet - [h=1]Switch Dimming[/h]Powerlite products with the High Frequency Dimming symbol can be fitted with a digital high frequency electronic dimming ballast enabling manual lighting control operated by a standard retractive/push-to-make switch.

The dimming ballast reacts to simple commands from the switch. A quick push for on / off, a longer push dims the lighting up or down and stores the selected light level and a long push re-sets to a mid level.

The user is thus able to select, store and change the lighting level to suit, literally by the press of a switch.

The Switch Dimming system allows for straightforward wiring, no separate dimmer or potentiometer is required and is ideal for offices, conference rooms, restaurants etc.
