Just seeing what others do...

Once you've sent an estimate off. Do you follow it up if you don't hear anything back from the customer or just presume that they don't want you to do the work ?

I don't normally bother unless a bit quiet, decent job or have booked in a provisional start date.

If so how long do you leave it...? And how do you deal with it in a way so that it doesn't seem to be that your pressurising the customer into decision...?

I just like to try and keep most people happy. And get a bit fed up with people phoning up 2 weeks before expecting me to fit them in.... if you know what i mean

Have a good day,

I send over about 90% of my estimates by email and find that a "dialogue" is easier to continue that way. As the OP says its sometimes difficult to balance chasing people up and annoying them!

However I do try and indicate, to a client when I visit when I'm likely to be able to fit the job in (even if I'm not busy) by suggesting a couple of dates - this also allows meto judge, by their response, how serious they are!
