it's probably bluury due to old age. whether the old age is due to the item or the photogrpher is debatable.
 
IIRC those were made by Adaptors and Eliminators. I can't read the current rating but also IIRC, 0.7A output / 3.5mm jack plug = unexpanded ZX81. 1.2A / 3.5mm jack plug = ZX81 with add-ons e.g. RAM pack. 1.4A / 2.1mm DC power plug = Spectrum. It's been a while.
 
Still working? I lost count of the number of those my brothers and I got through when we were kids. There was no reset button on the rubber key version so you had to yank the plug out instead. Inevitably a break would form in the cable, and the speccy would lose power randomly when you moved it. Highly annoying when you'd waited 5 mins for the game to load.
