Hi guys,

After long hasitation I have bought the new yellow book for BS7671. What a rip-off?

Anyway, I was looking at the inspection and testing section and I can not see for sure if there are some changes to the way we should fill the forms? There is a new section of about 50+ questions which I do not know what to do whit? Are we to include those into our forms? I was looking at some forms online but I could not see any changes to the Electrical Installation Certificate.

So, what is the situation now? Do we need to use different forms now or the old ones are still good?

Thanks

How far behind the times are you mate? :)
EICR went from 3 pages (+ continuation sheets) to 7 (+continuation sheets)
Plus we now have to comment on the condition of the DNO's gear which is totally beyond our control. Go Figure

AMD 3 is effective from 1st July 2015 EXCEPT the rules on fire resistent fuse boards which is 1st Jan 2016

Yes, that is why i am looking at it now.... I got the open office version of the eicr.... and OMG!!!!!

if there ever was a form that is OTT! What aloads of bul! Tickboxes for everything... what happened with being a competent person and just saying what needs to be improoved if anyithing?! The next thing we will see is bricklayers ticking a series of boxes everytime they lay a brik!!! Is it plastered - tick , is it straight - tick , is it safe - tick and so on!

I think I will now avoid PIRs even more now, hope I will never do one ever!!!

What have you been filling in when doing PIR's over the past 4 years then? :S

The EIC inspection schedule has been redone to look very similar to the EICR inspection schedule, and no from July the old one wont do unfortunately.

Cheers...............Howard
