problems with castline formfill. when trying to enter MCB details, i go to the box and tick ,say, MCB type B, 6KA scc, no option for rating, or BS no ( 60898 ) and then it puts "typeB" in the BS box, and insists that max. Zs is 1666. also, in the top right of the screen is a fill down option. this won't do anything. any ideas??

When you're selecting your device from the 'Protective Devices' window see if you've got the 'Protected by RCD' check box ticked, it's on the middle right.

yeah, done that, still the same. there's no option to enter BS No. unless i do it manually. i.e. type it on the cert. still gives max. Zsas 1666.

iv'e tried un ticking the rcd box, entering 1.44. and it puts 0 in the cert.

What version you running? I'm on 9.0.0.50. Works fine here!

Clicking on any of the Max discon time, BS(EN) or rating boxes brings up the devices window which lists loads of devices of various types and BS, where you can choose Discon times, kA ratings, 100 or 80% Zs. Make sure the Protected by RCD box is UNticked.

The fill down thing does sod all here as well.

got it. when i click on type B, i then have to click the + sign by it to bring up a drop down for the BS etc. doesn't tell you this in the help section.

Fill in the main parts of the test results but when it comes to IR readings or RCD readings just click on the top one on the sheet and it will go yellow then click top right of page on the fill down box the value should then go down into every box.

It took me a while to get the hang of it I fill in all the info on the schdule on the top line.

Then I only fill in the main parts on the rest of the ccts which only apply to that cct, if all the IR reading are the same I just highlight the box yellow and click fill down and it goes into every box underneath. (Same with RCD operating current trip times & polarity)

As I say it took me a while to get used to it but it seems to work OK now even though Im really poor with computers etc!!

I've used Formfill for the last 4 years and it is worth sticking with, once you master the shortcuts and quirks, it turns out immaculate certification, PDF's and DB schedules at the touch of a button.

so, tony. tell me how to do the fill down. imagine you're explaining to a numpty. i can't even use text on my phone.

Start on circuit 1 top line and complete the entire line.

The next line only fill in the main parts csa of conductors OPD r1 rn r2 or R1 R2.

Do that for every cct.

Then I go to the IR readings on cc1 highlight it and then click on Fill down top right (Only if the IR readings are the same)
I do the same with RCD times etc.

It will only fill down if the rest of the boxes on that cct are filled in

Hope that helps
