Forum Tags - We're done now I promise

Thanks for your patience with all of this. I jest about them being just tags on a website about electricals. But I know a lot of people have worked really hard to get them. So I often lose sleep over knowing at some point they're changing again.

So this is it now. We've hit that last point of me phasing them over.

So Mentor has come back. It's just 'Mentor' - as short as I can get it. Electrical Trainee is just 'Trainee' now. TA has fully gone. Esteemed member has fully replaced that now. Every single one of the old TA has now got the Esteemed. (Edit: Nearly everyone has) Automatically too. A massive thanks to all of those who have gained it too. That's hard work getting the criteria to get that. And even harder to get it now if you have 10,000 posts and a couple of thousand likes.

Admins have Admin
Mods have Mods

There are no Rockers. At least not with tags anyway.

Arms says just Arms. We know what that means. Those gaining access will know what that means when they read about it.

So we're fully phased over now. Thanks for being awesome about it all. Even those who kicked off didn't kick off as much as I was waiting for!

I'm setting up a mentor / trainee area on plumbers. And I now realise after trying to get it going how much effort is put in that area on here.

Whoever came up with that idea needs a medal.

And it wasn't me. It was one of you lot. So thanks.

I think at the time it was to get people away from saying 5 week wonder and all that. Seems to have worked.

I had the Respected Member/TA tag but as far as I can tell I don't have the Esteemed Member tag.

The Respected Member / Trusted Advisor tag was member-selected.

The Esteemed is automatically given based on the response to the content you've contributed to the forum.

While I did do a quick check to make sure I had relaxed the criteria enough to catch all trusted advisors. It does appear that it didn't quite catch everybody. And if I relax it anymore, it doesn't encourage people to help out and post better. So I'm afraid the only advice I can give you, is to post responses which help people, so they naturally click 'Like'. Or post new threads with help and how-to guides etc, which attract 'Likes' forever, and sometimes even get the thread made 'Sticky' so it stays at the top of the forum category.



Edit: 4000 messages, 1500 likes. You need about 500 more likes to fit the criteria. Just FYI.
