Hi, just wondered what the best way is to run fp200 fire alarm cable through a masonary wall? all surface clipped, domestic hmo. Pass plastic conduit through the wall? what can i use to cover the hole where the cable comes through? into the back of a pvc/galv conduit box? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi Jackflash. Im afraid I don't know the regulations regarding this, however I do know the realities of it. There are probably hundreds of metres of FP200 passing through masonary walls unprotected in the UK. You making the effort to protect it in conduit sounds like a great idea. As for sealing the hole, I spose you just need to be careful whatever material you use is not going to affect the FP. (so don't use the curry I made last night because not only would it melt the FP it would probably also melt the wall......phew.......nurse!!)

Top tip........I reckon one of the best things not to do with FP is to start bending it at right-angles.

Sorry, im sure someone more helpful, and informed, will be along shortly.
