Came back to this thread a little late it seems but-
When I was playing in bands we went on a mini tour and played in Conyer in Kent. It's a tiny little place which is dominated by a community which lives on boats and has a pub in the village. Nothing else.
After the gig we retired to one of the boats and the couple who owned it pulled these supermarket milk bottle type containers out of their fridge that were full of scrumpy. Evil stuff, the drummer fell overboard (luckily the tide was out) into some very stinky mud and I ended up holding Mrs Trev's hair out of the way while she barfed.
Such a pleasant evening :)

That sounds like my kind of night when i have been on the scrumpy.

Yes would be good, and all mentors have to swear to always support trainees and never ever bash them, it could become a great forum here, it is already good, I like the fact the team only allow trainees in here if they apply, we just need to get them in here.

I like both yours and Dillbs idea of a badge and signature.
And I'm with you Mike regarding not bashing trainees, the 1st time I see anyone doing it they will get told, and I hope the same would happen to me.

Trev ask Paul about the Guitars he saw today at a job of mine today, Huge place called Gear4Music, it has a very impressive guitar display.

Gasp, I've seen it on line mate. It would be a w ankathon for me in there. Honestly, guitar shops to me are like girl on girl films to others.
When we went to Florida we pulled up outside of one and Mrs Trev marched me in, she'd told me I was buying one while I was there but I promise I was fighting against it, we were in there for about 2 hours. The kids were bloody furious:)

Some cool saxophones as well.
We are doing one of our change over generator jobs for the shop this weekend so Paul popped in to see Darrel hard at work and ended up giving him an hand getting the Ats panel in position. Might as well make the most of him while he was there.

Good job you're not paying me for that Glenn, my work rate would dip dramatically :)
Meet my new toy

Very nice Trev I think paul was thinking of buying one, but apparently he has got short arms and deep pockets:grin:

Almost bought a guitar and I dont even play! Tried when I was a teenager but did not have the patience for it then, may do now???

I'll post up a pic.

Do it mate, you're never stressed when you're playing (except when you first pick it up) Once you've picked out your first couple of riffs it becomes a drug. I've lost years of my life in guitars and I don't regret a second of it.

I will do Trev, I will start out on acoustic first but this is what I almost bought today. Even if I cant play it, hang it on a wall and it is a thing of beauty

New Jersey Electric Guitar by Gear4music, Union Jack at Gear4Music.com
For around about that amount of money you can get a really good quality but entry level Takamine electro acoustic. You're not going to get a decent Les Paul copy for just over a ton mate and you'll need something reasonable to learn on. If you start with a piece of crap that hurts your fingers it's going to put you off playing.
