RHI Training Support Scheme Website Launches TODAY!
To support the upcoming Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), today DECC are launching £500,000 of funding to help installer companies access the training they need to engage with renewable heating technologies.
The £500,000 will be split across two streams as follows:
Stream 1 – Cross-Skilling support
DECC will make available £250,000 of funding to support installers whom are already qualified in a heating and / or plumbing discipline obtain qualifications in a heat based renewable technology.
Funding will be available through training vouchers for qualifications in the installation and maintenance of the following technologies:
These vouchers will be valued at 75% of the cost of the training, up-to a maximum of £500 per voucher, enabling a minimum of 500 training vouchers to be issued.
- Solar Thermal
- Heat Pump
- Biomass
Stream 2 – Apprenticeship support
DECC will make available £250,000 of funding to support apprentices to include renewables in their apprenticeship programme
Funding will be available through vouchers for the following qualifications:

- Introduction to environmental technologies
- Solar Thermal
- Heatpump
- Biomass
