Hi Guys,

I have just been handed a mobile home plan for a home to be delivered to France, I need to wire it in the UK and it will then be transported over, I need to know whether TWE etc is used, RCD? MCB? etc etc. I will list the rough room outline in the hope someone may be able to help.

Thanks in advance.

Mick

Hi.
The rules are different in many ways.
MCB's are double pole there is no neutral bar in the consumer unit.
RCD's required
The earth conductor has to be same csa as neutral and positive
No ring main. Separate radials for washing machine and dryer
There are maximums for socket outlets and lights for each radial circuit.
Etc on anothe rhtread there is a discussion about the French regs and their equivalent to out regs

Cleckelect is correct, both Type A and Type AC RCD's are required, all MCB's have to be duel pole and certainly no twin and earth.

If the mobile home is going on a site where it has to have a new electrical supply from ERDF, you will also need to obtain a Consuel certificate once it is here in France BEFORE ERDF will supply a permanent connection.

Hi.

I have just come across this thread. For anyone wanting to get more on the French regs here are some books.
Below are three books about French installation. The only one in English that I am aware of is the first one.

This handbook is in FRENCH presents the essential rules to design and implement, in housing, an electrical installation according to NF C 15-100.
The provisions of this handbook are derived from the NF C 15-100, 2002 Edition, including its amendments 1, 2 and 3.
Amendment 3, issued in February 2010, is mandatory for electrical installations in residential premises withthe filing of building permits (or if the date of signing of contract or otherwise, the date acknowledgment of receipt of order) is after July 31, 2010.

I have a copy of this book which is very well illustrated. If stuck with technical French google translate solves most difficulties

Good luck
