There must be at least 5 enquiries about the domestic Installers course on here weekly. Do the maths thats 5 x 52...so you are looking at about 260 DI's per annum. Off here alone. Frightening figures!

not a skills shortage. more of a work shortage. i.m seriously thinking of packing it in and going full time photographer. ( anybody getting married soon?)

most of them do the course and still haven't a clue after they have done it if you go by some of the posts that are posted by them.

After reading that maybe we haven't got it so bad after all, or rather there are others in the same boat; every amateur these days seems to assume they can do a professional's job better than they can. It might be interesting to compare the pictures taken by the guests with those taken by the professional.

On the other hand you hear stories on programmes like Watchdog about completely incompetent 'official' wedding photographers taking a load of rubbish photos; I can imagine professional photographers calling for a scheme like gas safe on their forums.
