Hi there everybody, this is my first post. I am a 21 year old from Brighton on the south coast. I have only minor construction experience. I have helped install a velux, and have built some garden stairs, basic things like that.
Ultimately I would like to install solar panels on a roof, but what is the best way for someone without electricians experience to get there?
Preferably I would like to be paid and learn whilst I work but practically speaking I know I will probably have to pay for a course. An apprenticeship would be nice!
I would gladly work for free for a PV installation company though just because I'm so excited by the technology itself, and see it's inherent neccessity to be used instead of fossil fuels.
I'm looking at the green course from tradeskills4you, but have also called a number of local companies volunteering my help in turn for the experience of working in the PV environment.
Do you have any suggestions? What was your career path?
