I recently posted about my wholesalers annoying me but today took the biscuit! I was patiently waiting in a long que and was wondering what the hold up was. To my surprise they was showing a customer how to install a fuse board! I can't believe they are even selling the customer the parts in the first place! I think the government should introduce a scheme where you need to show your qualified before you are able to purchase the items! Sorry rant over!

Couldn't agree more, but it will never happen in this feckless country unfortunately.

Cheers.........Howard

Utter rubbish ain't it! I know one of the suppliers i use is losing most of my business soon as they can't seem to get anything right. They send out invoices long after i have received materials making my invoicing a guessing game at times. They keep promising me a price list and never produce one! Recently i waited a month for a 250W Venture MH lamp and 3 weeks for some Scolmore switch modules. Told them to cancel the last item as i had to buy it elsewhere after the order was delivered minus the switches i desperately needed. Fortunately another local wholesaler had what i needed in stock and got them on the van to me the same day. You can guess who's gaining the work the other wholesaler has lost!

However, they're not all bad as i think i stated before. One of the national wholesalers looks after me very well and has recently told me i can buy Halers dimmable recessed lights ÂŁ5 cheaper then i'm getting them from the 'other' guys. That's certainly going to increase my profit margins on every fitting i sell! :D

So much wish there was more commercial stuff about as diy bob cant touch it,how many lives need to be lost before someone does something, why am i bothering paying ÂŁ500 a year for a scheme like a lot of the rest on here, when its us that are qualified,we need licenses just like the USA & OZ,no license,no work, simples.

While I'm standing there listening, I usually make some smartass comment like - Ah, I see you're wondering if there's life after death. Do your own board change and you get to find out. And don't get put off by the ÂŁ2000 fine your going to get from the supplier the next time they read your meter and discover you have broken the seal. It's worth it just for the look on their faces....lol :D

Should'nt our governing bodies invesitgate this? Should we report such things to them as well? Isn't that what governing bodies are for?
