Hi

Does anyone know where you can get the forms for fuel filling sites?

I've been asked to test the pumps for there fuel license.

Not sure if I would need any extra qualifications for this also?

Anyone got any experience of testing fuel punps?

Thanks

You need Ex (not sure what category) certification to work on the Fuel islands and pumps etc, i'm afraid!! And no doubt i believe, the insurance to go with it!!

Hi,

As E54 says you need Compex ( 7 & 8 ) to undertake work on Petrol stations/ Fuel Stations. I believe there are other certs you also need. If you haven't had any Compex training you will not be able to identify anything that is incorrect or be able to test accordingly. There was a similar thread on here not long ago which would be worth looking at.

Regards.

Thanks guys, I think you might be right, give this one a shove a side, looked at the courses and its definately not worth doing them for one promised job!

There are special companies that do this, they have the required permits etc, without those companies on board there can be no testing, obviously the owner thought that they were too expensive, I would not waste your time and money....

ComPex Ex 07 08 is required for testing and installation of petrol forecourts google a company called Paul Hurt or Hart in Yeovil they run courses its a week long 0800 to 1800 for five days fail rate very high, it consists of exam, one to one assessment and fault finding, and on the Friday an installation on a test rig then you have to test your own work. I would not test a petrol forecourt without the correct training or equipment for example a clamp meter for mA readings on the earth the system is a TT

Iv recently sat my Compex courses. And I'm holding off on ex07 and ex08 as they are a lot harder. More experience needed.
EX01 - EX04 GAS
EX05 - EX06 DUST
EX06 - EX07 FILLING STATIONS.
Don't think you can do filling stations without gas though.

you can get the forms from APEA,But you must have compex 7/8 to test & inspect petrol forecourts.
You can work on forecourts as long as you have done an SPA PASSPORT course, there are only two companys that do compex 7/8, one in scotland and the other is JR HURT in yoevile
