hi

I know there are no hard and fast rules and this is not a very specific question; but what is a 'ball park' figure for a full house re-wire for a 3 bed detached say? MCBs, Rcds, and consumer unit inc.

I'm new to the business and trying to get a feel for things!

help appreciated

:D

It really depends on the style of house, concrete floors, locations and amounts of accessories etc. Not been into this type of work for a while but would expect anything from £1300 upwards.

just checked out the link above, seems right.
I normaly charge around £1000 per bedroom for a rewire, ie 3 bed £3000, 4 bed £4000. occupied with making good, with 4 sockets and 1 light per room, kitchen 4 doubles, 1 cooker and 3 appliances.
If customer requires D/L then £10 per fitting on top

Pretty spot on in your pricing i reacon, maybe a bit cheap on the downlighter cost if using fire rated fittings. Haven't managed to do a rewire for £1300 for years but perhaps I'm getting gready:D

here in the South £50-£75

this includes 1st hour even if it is re set a rcd

People wouldn't pay that here in Cornwall....I'm closer to £35 but generally find that there's something which I can usefully do for the client or advise for further work. I get a really good conversion of "you should think about getting that changed..." to a callback.
