Why do they put that green and yellow wire in ? It's a pain having to snip it off all the time.

Tell me about it.. Ive started recycling that old 1960's lighting cable.. Saves me loads of time as no unessessary earths to connect up..

There is one benefit to this set-up, the black mould stays damp, so little chance of inhaling the spores!

Went to a callout today RCD tripping when shower MCB is on..........IR tested and found 0.05M ohms between L-E (from MCB to isolator switch) traced cable back to find this.



Under carpet is bad but over carpet tack strips?
