Hi

My oma (grandma) rang me earlier and she is looking at moving from lincs to here. She likes the house/apartment she viewed today, whichever it is, but the fuse box is up a ladder in a small cupboard. Shes 76ish and theres no way im letting her climb up there if it trips. Can this be moved by a qualified electrician? Im just wondering as its putting her and me off but she loves the place.

Cheers

Sar

All depends on the existing installation. Without seeing it impossible to comment. If she is really interested it would be worth paying for someone to have a look

Supply and install of a 17th edition consumer unit is around the ÂŁ250 mark round our way. You'll want a few tests done first to make sure there are no existing problems which would be picked up by the RCDs.
As Glenn said there may be other issues to consider but I'd guess a move of more than 3 metres is unlikely

Well i would have asked her to take a photo but she would have had to go up there. I was asking as i am ignorant/wondering/care. Be sick on onions hel love it.

No one acts like this in front of customers....I hope

Haha i know! I am worried about if i find someone to do it how will i know there competent and not some idiot? You lot go on and on about people doing unsafe things when not properly qualified eek. Scary. This is my oma and i could be at risk of going to jail if they mess it up.....
