Hi guys,

I have heard a rumour twice in the last week that all projects under 50kW will soon, if not already be treated as a G83.

I know that the rules hve become relaxed under 50kW, i.e I have submitted a few G83 forms to apply for 45KW systems. But I am now hearing that people are not even applying and that they are able to simply carry out the install and send over the commissioning forms when complete.

Surely this cannot be the case, although not considered large scale, the 50KW installs need to be regulated otherwise you will end up getting some idiot putting 50kW on the end of a single phase line and causing fireworks!

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

PS

Doubt it - your not even allowed to connect a SMA 4000 without prior application thesedays, so i doubt a 50KWp is going to be allowed without application or G59

The largest we have put through on a G83/2 was a 33kw across 3ph with central networks .
