G59 or G83 on a 49.9Kw system

i have been asked to install a 49.9KW system, and i have been research on the internet, and have just confused my self more
we are planning to install 3 x 15Kw tri sma inverters, from what i have read this is still a small scale installation as it is below <50Kw, so can i go to G83 or will it be G59,

please any information would be great,

and information on the process i would need to take if it was G59

G83/1 is for up to 16A per phase. You are rather more than that so will be G59/2.

An important question you need to find out from the DNO is whether you can use the x3 inverters with G59 settings or whether they require you to have a separate G59 relay.

we asked them and the said the sma tripower 15Kw inverters dont need a relay unit
so we have found out that the transformer can take 50kw and that the 3 inverters dont need a relay, what would be the next step

Sounds like you have an easy install then.

There is G59 paperwork to submit in advance if you have not already done that.

Do the design. Watch out for ac voltage drops as you do not have the leeway you have with G83.

i have read a few other forum sites which say that on some occasions you can install <59Kw on G83, i will try and find out more

That would be a G83/1-1 Stage 2 installation. You may be right that the DNO will allow it your case. You have to ask.
