What's the best way to gain access to a loft? I'm a fat bloke, when i pull on the loft hatch to climb up the whole ceiling feels like it's going to give way! It's one of those things that sounds simple in theory...

If you're concerned about your stoutness it's quite simple, eat less and do more. Get a dog and take him for walks you lazy fat ....... :)

NB This was posted completely in jest. Please don't be offended, that was not the intention

If you haven't got wedged in the hole yet, you're not that fat! :)
Otherwise, adopt a smooth pulling action, with a slow initial pull and avoid rapid or jerking movements.
Cracked ceilings will be a thing of the past.

Or just take trev's first piece of advice... :)
