If the house has a garage and its fed from a 32A MCB in the main CU via a SWA to its own 2 or 4 way CU in the garage itself. Would the test results for the SWA supply go on the main results sheet and the garage on its own certificate ? Or maybe a break at the bottom on the results sheet by a few spaces and then the garages results added?
Just wondering how others are doing these :)

Also would you ZE and PFC from the garage main switch and record these as seperate on the results or would the main C.U ZE / PFC act for these circuits.

Thanks

The SWA would be classed as a circuit, even though its feeding another DB, so those details get recorded on the EIC as you would any other.

Then, you would complete a separate EIC for the garage CU.

Hi Timo,

The circuit feeding the garage CU goes on the main house schedule of tests along with any test results.

You then have a second schedule of test results for the garage CU and the circuits running off it.

It will have it's own PFC etc recorded on it.

Hope that helps:)

You just use a new Schedule of test Results sheet for the garage CU + associated circuits - unless that's what you mean by a 'continuation' sheet.

The NICEIC forms actually have a box at the top that you only complete if the CU is remote from the origin of the supply - as would be the case with a garage.

The distribution circuit goes on the main house Schedule.

yep that's what I mean by a continuation schedule of test results, and the NIC EIC certs do have the top line reserved for sub main circuits feed from the origin of supply.

Thanks to all you lot for replying.

how about the ZE test, Tripping the 30Ma RCD that supplies the SWA preventing a test. only a Zs with the triplock will provide a ZS reading with no PFC info. :(

Hi.

Ze is only measured at the origin of the install, at the garge DB you are measuring the Zs and PFC of that sub-main circuit so a measurement with the "trip lock" function is fine.

If you need to brush up on a bit of testing then Guidance Note 3 is a good book.

You could use the calc....although not an exact figure it will be close.

Would rather measure it TBH....just as well seeing as your there measuring the Zs anyway.

PEFC, PSCC, the highest being the PFC for that DB.

How about the RCD protecting the SWA. Tripping etc on PFC tests
