Mr.Ian

Hi all, attached garage to be converted to granny annex (front room / kitch / shower). Would it be best to run a supply to a new cu or to just wire it into the house rings ? Original downstairs (house) shower supply will be used to supply the shower in the annex as house one is being removed. New ring would be needed for new kitch? (no need for cooker supply as only worktop mini oven / microwave used). Lighting in new shower on own supply?.
Your thoughts.
Cheers.

I'd probably just run in a new ring circuit for the whole area, and use the existing lighting circuit for your lighting needs. Any extra loading for this Granny flat is going to be minimal so Absolutely no need for a separate CU....

Agree with E54 with regards to loading etc, you might want to take a look at how the physical wiring would work though as for the sake of a few quid it might be easier to run a 10 or 16mm T&E from the existing CU and fit a sub board - only you will know as you're the one looking at it!

Sounds like the best plan to me, unless there are any other reasons for an additional cu in the flat i'll just run a new ring from a spare way in the house cu and extend the lighting.
Thanks
