DIYer here. Can somebody tell me what the required height is for receptacles in a garage due to possible flammable vapors? Thanks

In the U.K. we don’t generally allow sockets (recepticals) where there are explosive gasses.

I need more information because it sounds like you have a class 1 division 1 environment especially if flammable vapors are present. You need to install them 18 inches to the bottom of the receptacle.

Actually its going to be a detached wood shop 40'x50', but I will be parking 2 vehicles on the other side of the shop. A friend mentioned since you are parking vehicles there is a potential risk of gasoline vapors say something leaked. So he said put them up high. I was just wondering how high do I have to put them in this case. The ones in my attached garage are at 28" from the bottom of the boxes. Thanks

28 inches should be fine. Good luck
