what`s a builders consumer unit? depends on length of run fabric etc. is it adjoined to the house or separate?

it's a purpose made 2 way unit with a 60a 30ma RCd as a main switch with 2 CB's 16a & a 6a. The run is about 5 meters. Backed up with a 32a type B in the House. The garage is brick built

It depends on how the twin and earth is installed as it may need RCD protection.

If thats the case then no RCD required in the garage.
