i want to put some electric in a garage, the garage is a metre away from the house, ive got to bring the cable down the house and across to the garage via concertina wire and flexible conduit to the garage, could someone please tell me if the following is ok to do.

32a mcb in consumer unit in house with 6mm t + e leading to garage unit

i am still learning so sensible answers only please

Is there anyway you could run the cable underground?. In any event T&E is not the best cable to run outdoors, even in trunking or whatever. I would use SY cable probably 4mm 3 core, or SWA same spec, drop your MCB to 16a, more than enough for a garage unless it is a workshop.
Connect the cable as normal, and connect the braiding to earth at both ends if SY, and earth armouring if SWA. If you use SWA and catenery wire you wont need to protect the cable. Just off the top of my head dont know what the regs are for Catenery wires, but look in the OSG or BRB the answer is there somewhere.
Dont lash it to the washing line.....only joking but have seen it done to power a shed.
Cheers.........Howard

agree with SWA but i would use 6mm, cheap as chips, buy by the metre, 40A MCB in CU. Garage Board 40A, 30mA RCD, 16A MCB for sockets, 6A for lights

Wire the twin and earth into piece of galvanised conduit rather than hanging off catenary wire, with feet each side, which can be fixed( to span the gap if its high enough )
As long as its not liable to be damaged it will be ok
