Garage wiring

Am looking on wiring 2 sockets and a light in my garage. I have run a 4mm t+e cable from a 20 amp breaker in the consumer unit to a 4 way enclosure in the garage where I have a 40 amp double pole rcd, a 16 amp breaker and a 6 amp breaker. Is this acceptable? I am not long in the sparkie business and have not done a lot of domestic work!

yes but as you well know, it is better if fault protection is in garage,
and now i get what you mean about installed
>50mm or surface mounted etc

was about to say i know more than you, hah

Best to have rcd in garage as if fault exists in garage only garage circuit becomes out of use. Not sure if I'd have a 20 amp mcb protecting 16amp and 6amp. And your 4mm twin and earth depends how you have protected it etc

Yeh 32 amp. I know you will have diversity and lights will never ever reach 6amp but your 2 Mcb's in garage maximum demand is 22amp. If installation ever got added to an 32 amp would be perfect.
