Hello,

Ive been asked to wire a garage unit up (new build) that is connected to the house.

Do i need a garage rcd unit even though its connected to the house ?an I tap off the ring main or use a new rcd in the old board ?

Also if they plaster i can just run my cables under the board ?

If they dont plaster will I have to run conduit to all electrical sockets/switches /lights ?

Will this be a minor works cert as it is connected to the house ?

The way in which to decide how you run a feed to the new garage is all going to depend on what the demand will be. As for cable installation, just treat it like any other rewire or installation of circuits.

I'd be issuing a EIC for this
