Hello

I've been asked to do a job installing some garden lights and some outside sockets. The customer has converted his garage into an office and has a consumer box with two spare ways in. I have a plan and some questions and hoping you guys can help please.

Plan: to run SWA from new fuse in consumer unit to entrance of garden where depending on the type of lights customer purchases, running cable into an outdoor transformer. next run cable to a junction box where one set of lights has been requested to run to a switch. (this will sort first set of lights) next set of lights to light up his pathway (lights 2) so that cable will be main feed from JB then from there into another JB from which some corner lights will also need running to a switch.(lights 3).

Questions:- lights 2 will be pir lights and should light up when walked by!! Lights 1 and 3 worked by a switches. What cable to I need from transformer to lights, I have seen on the website the low voltage cable? What cable should I use to wire up the switches? Originally going to use the SWA cable for this?? What size SWA should I use, I still have to work out the max load but as its lights and I don't think there are too many is 1.5 ok which leads me to my last question is a 6 amp fuse from the CU ok?

This will be my first garden job and I just want to make sure my brain is working this out properly.

All help gratefully received.

As littlespark says there's no ways you're going to find spike lights that can accomodate SWA cables directly into them.
