Hi everyone

Apologies if this seems like a stupid question.

I have a previously installed 2.5 mm 5 core swa cable feeding a shed via a dedicated 16A garden circuit.
The customer wants several garden lamps fitted. I plan to install Wiska boxes in the swa to feed off to garden lamps and take a feed to
a 2 gang exterior 2 gang switch outside the house to control these. If I take a loop to the switch to energise the lighting section of the circuit
should I install an IP rated fused connection unit in the switch line? The garden lamps have not yet been chosen but I'm sure that the
flex size will be 1.5mm or less.

Thanks

Chris.

I assume 16amp front end has also got rcd protection as required, you need to decide what lighting system your using i.e. SELV (safety extra low voltage) or mains, using mains means strict regs will be required to be met regarding running of the swa, depth its buried , warning tape etc etc ..... if your using SELV then the running of the cables is more relaxed, easier and cheaper to install, also YES whenever you derate the cable size you will need to fused it down and you will find if lights are pre flexed they most likely have something around 0.5mm or 0.75mm flex manufacturer dependent.

As littlespark says there's no ways you're going to find spike lights that can accomodate SWA cables directly into them.
