Which do you prefer?

I must admit I like to sit on the side of safety so would feel better knowing I had a 12 Volt light setup but what do others think?

I mean the garden is probably the most dangerous place in a domestic set up for any electrical equipment.

Thanks.

I'm just a bit dubious about the flex to the lights.

It doesn't seem well enough protected.

I mean enough time is spent installing SWA cables in the garden and then we go and put 230V spiked spotlights in flower beds with nothing more than a bit of rubber flex attached.

Does anybody change the flex on the lights they buy to something a little more substantial?

I am installing garden/landscape lighting on quite a large garden, the supply to the house is TNS . I had planned to export the earth around the garden lighting generally and i am actually wiring this as a ring so no problems with differentials on the circuit.
Should i actually make it TT by adding earth stakes at various points en route and disconnect earth from house supply, obviously rcd either way. This does seem over the top but want to make sure its safe
