Looked in the regs cant find anything specific on the distance terminations (switches etc) should be located away from the water edge of a garden pond - other than common sense - does anyone know of any guidance on this or specifics for locating terminations for the pond pump and filter.

Thanks in advance

Phil

section 702 in 7671 deals with swimming pools, basins and fountains
702.53 switchgear or control gear not to be installed in zones 0 or 1,fig 702.4 zone 1 extends 2m from edge of basin
i can only assume that this would apply to ponds.Ring the niceic tech helpline and ask them-you do not need to be a member

Yes looked at that James, but it does not refer specific to garden ponds - and the distance from the pool edge was something like 2.5m, which bit of a big distance for a small garden,...

Although garden ponds are not listed as special locations, there is a risk of accidental or intentional immersion so guidance recommends that the same rules for swimming pools (especially large ponds) are applied.

Think external influences, IP ratings to IP55, use of class II equipment etc

This will also fall under Document P in domestic situations.
