Hi I work for a central heating company and have just had a call to ask why we didn't bond a customers gas when we installed his boiler , as this was done in 1988 i am sure that it wasn't a requirement at the time, even if his y plan was rewired......please help

im affraid to say the bonding must be installed to services gas oil water etc its a requirement and work on heating electrical is also notifiable under part P

Even if the work was done in 1988 it should still have been bonded.
There talks a 15th edition trained spark.
Get the bonding done, it'll be reet then.

as it was an existing installation does this make a difference, now you cant touch anything unless the bonding is in place , thought it was not the same back then

who's to say that the bonding wasn't in place in 1988, and has since been disconnected ? plumber, kitchen fitter, anything could have happened in 23 years.
