hi i am faced with the following scenario:

the kitchen in question has a 45amp cooker switch above worktop level wired in 6mm2 cable on a 32a mcb. this cooker switch has a load in 6mm2 taken down to the cooker spout. im assuming this will be fine to connect the 2.35kw electrical oven into using 6mm2 cable. the problem i have is that the hob is gas and has a flex with a plug fitted with a 3 amp fuse, where can i plug this into? where can i get my supply from etc?

if you could help would be most appreciated...

Personal I'd fit one of these and one side have your connection for the 2.35kw cooker and the other fir a single socket with that 3 amp plug fuse for the gas hob

The gas hob ignition is unlikely to be subjected to an overcurrent.
As such there is no requirement to provide overcurrent protection.
Consider a dual fuel cooker rather than separates, there is no overcurrent protection for the ignition circuit in such appliances.

so having installed the double back box split into 2 singles, i then terminate the 6mm2 and fit a cooker spout for the oven but what cable do i need to terminate into the other side for the gas hob and where do i take the supply from?

If you only have a 2.35kw oven and ignitor for hob then you won't need the 45a switch, they can be isolated by a S/FCU, 2 single sockets would be fine. Both protected by the fuses in the plug tops of each appliance.

Or just keep your 45a switch and fit 2 single sockets, don't hard wire your oven straight into a cooker outlet unfused
