I need some advice please. My daughter has had a porch extension built. There is a gas meter box just outside the new porch. For reasons that are irrelevant the builder has cut the green and yellow bonding cable that goes to the meter box. Do I need to get this re-instated? For further information the gas supply pipe to the property is plastic and the property was built about 20 years ago (don't know if that is relevant). TIA.

Although the gas pipe may no longer require the bonding, it should really be terminated correctly or completely disconnected at the other end. Don’t mess around with the cut end whilst the installation is energised.
