I have a question regarding my own property which does not appear to have any main bonding on the Gas Pipe. The Gas meter is in a box on the outside of the house. the feed comes into the house at Three seperate points. One at the front for the gas fire, once along the side wall for the Gas Boiler and once at the back for the Kitchen Cooker.

The question is where do you connect the bonding? The CU is nearest to the Boiler.
I understand that the connection should be close to the Gas Meeter but as this is outside should it be connected outside or at one (or all) of the points of entry into the building?

Hope that is clear!
Thanks

For a service pipe, the main bonding conductor should be connected as near as possible to the point where the service enters the building.
The connection must be before any branched pipework and on the consumers side of any meter.
If possible the connection should be made within 600mm of the meter outlet.
Where the meter is outside, the bonding connection should be made at the point of entry of the service into the building. 544.1.2

That is where my issue arises.
The pipe enters the house at three seperate places all of which are greater then 600mm from the Meter.
The Meter is in a box on the side of the house.

So connecting within the Meter Box (albiet outside of the house) sounds sensible to me as the alternative would be at three seperate entry points to the building all of which are greater then 600mm from the Meter and all would be after a Junction as the T's are outside.

I see that point . I’m going to have to run a new cable into the meter then at my cost. more than likely as I’ve finished the job now
