Hi

Been to look at a job today, bit of a bodge by some builders who do electrical work too, seen it all before lads haven't we?!
Anyway, I need to install the proximty sensors for some automatic gates, just the hydraulic mechanism type for the control box, and I forgot to look at the manual for the thing, I GUESS It would be just 3 cores required to each sensor, any body done these before?

cheers

TAKE CARE there was an incident on the news where a child was crushed and died in an electric gate Didnt read the full thing but it came back to the manufacurer and installer being prosecuted as the design "was fundamentaly flaued" ill try n find the link for it

I know mate, it was the first thing I said to the buliders! Been two kids killed in a week, nightmare
These are just the Domestic ram type, no chance of crushing on opening, different story on closing of course.

the one this week was closing I think there should be pressure sensor on ram like on windows in cars but im just a humble electrician not a designer of such things bEST OF lUCK

proximity or photocell?
if your talking about photocell i would run direct burial 8/12 core inside flexi conduit, you will need to use probably 4 cores ,dont cut back the spare, just in case.
