I am hoping to start my HNC in Electrical Engineering September 2015......as i will be spending this next year completing my NVQ3, AM2, City/Guilds 2394 and i am also enrolling on a 12 week PLC course.

My maths is not the best and i want to get my level up ready for the HNC........

Would GCSE level maths be a good place to start? (i do not have a GCSE in maths from school)

cheers

I would say GCSE Maths would be certainty. You really should have it anyway.
Speak to your college as soon as, they'll give you the best advice/what's required.

The maths level for an HNC can get quite complex so it would be best to prepare yourself as much as possible.
Starting with GCSE and then progressing onward, there may also be maths bridging or make up courses available from your college that can direct your learning to focus on the required information.

Cheers, I have just started my application for distance learning GCSE Maths, going for the higher level.

All depends on how fast you pick that sort of thing up.

If you feel you need it, it will be well worth it as I believe a HNC costs a lot more than it did when I did mine. lol

I its not cheap at the min....ÂŁ2750 each year.....

I think when I did mine the company paid ÂŁ900 for the two years of night school, with one day a week at the tech college.

Mind it was a few years ago.

My GCSE course material has arrived, will be starting this in the next 2 weeks....this is going to be tough!
