Hi all! I've been installing my own jobs now for the last month or so trying to get through this horrible rat race like everone else and when it comes to filling the FIT form I always help the customer fill it in but I'm a little worried about something which my wife has pointed out to my despair, when the form ask you for the start gen meter reading I always put eg 0.65kw but she said it should be ooooo (5 digits) and I'm thinking if this is so, will all applications get refused, this is making me **** myself please help!!

Rang Good Energy this morning to check they had received the application emailed last night. Very helpful person found the email and went through all nine pages of attachments to check for errors. Unlike EdF (see other thread) they do not need the d.o.b. of the bloke who assembled the meter etc etc.

Only snag was (guess what) the TGM reading. In daylight their form has very faint guidlines showing where the decimal point goes (six digits before and two after) but this was completely invisible last night as I filled it in. She said it didn't matter, the date of receipt of the email is what counts and in the unlikely event it is deemed to be a problem I can re-submit that page later.

Can't fault Good Energy customer service so far and don't know why anyone would bother to go through the hoops the big six put in our way.

1.2 is the same number as 00001.2 is the same number as 00000000000000000000000001.2 - anyone rejecting an application on these grounds really does need to join Greg Barker in that torture chamber I've prepared for him.

Complete guess, but it's probably cheaper to let a separate meter read a CT clamp and send the data to the charger's microcontroller using rs485...
