hello sparks
just through reading many posts on this forum i have become aware of the many different ways of becoming fully qualified!
i was just wondering as a fellow spark what is the main ways over in the mainland?
over here in northern ireland the only way to become a fully qualified electrician is to go through the training centre/college route.
the course itself is run by the JIB and as soon as you qualify you recieve your card.
we do the keyskills course, AM1 , AM2, a yearly portfollio, on site visits as well as employer feedback!
1st year spent 2days at college and 3 on site ,
2nd year spent 1day at college and 4 on site ,
3rd year the same
and 4th year once a month at night tech.
would be nice to hear of other ways you guys become sparks
