hello,
i am desperatly after some help, so thank you in advance.
i am looking for a generator to power a feed auger of 18m in small mobile sheds. there would be 3 sheds wired together but with a delay, and one central plug to which the generator would be attached. this would then power the sheds.
i need a 16amp generator and it needs to have 240v. i was under the impression that a 240v and 110v generator woudl bemore than sufficient. however subsequently our electrician has said that due to a center tap on many of these machines the RCD would disconnect if there was a fault. sunsequently putting the building at risk of going live.
they have then said that i need to look for a straight 240v single phase machine, or a 450v machine.
the issue i am havign is: are they correct? where can i get this type of generator as i do have somerequirments for it:
1) it needs to be smallish and lightish (i.e. size of a wheelbarrow and 100kg), this is because it will be taken around fields every day on the frnt of a tractor.
2) it also needs to be robust and capable of been taken around fields.
3) clearly looking for something reasonably priced and ideally a diesel.
thank you for your help.
Alec
