I had Jason 121 round to move some cables from my old solar-log (that’s broken) box in the loft and route them down to my computer room. I am trying out the Fronius DL2 web . Jason showed me is elios4you system that he uses but at £500 was way outside my price range but he told me how easy it was to fit unlike the Fronius I have just purchased

I have seen the geo's Chorus PV from Green energy options priced at £199 on Amazon have any of you fitted it? Looks like it gives you the info as the Elios4you

Have any of you used this device chorus pv

i have fitted a few geo Chorus and they do look smart, i havent seen the online part only installed it checked its working and left with the customer. I think i would buy one for the price. I believe they can control smart plugs etc as well!

I have had a Elios4you running for a few months with no problems, the data it give is very good, I use an Iphone to view.

We are going to start offering them as an extra, I wanted to have one on test after all the issues with other monitoring from: powerone, watson and geo solo. So far it has been fine.

We have also just installed a 3 phase Elios4you with its own tablet and we are pleased with this too.

We got them from Andy at Sibert, he's often on here and very helpful.

Well amazon delivered on time again and I have got 30 days to try out the new Geo chorus pv kit.

Because I am disabled my mrs set up the 3 sensors on the meters for me and I got to setup the internet bridge kit. It took us about 10 minutes to do the installation and about 15 minutes to setup all the tariffs you get 3 so it’s okay for economy 7 but I am on economy 10. So I added 1 hour on to the morning rate and 15 minutes to the afternoon rate to take that in to account. We don’t use much on evening rate apart from my oxygen concentrator(medical) it’s on for at least 15 hours minimum but I do get the money back.

The only problem I had was getting the internet bridge to send a message to the geo display so it registered. It took 3 attempts. It’s working fine now.

Once online you register to use the energynote software.

When you logon remotely depending on which device you use and its screen size it gives you an image that works best for that device e.g. smartphone tablets laptops

The only bit I am stuck on is the settings menu is 1 labeled Deeming. This is in the manual

The energy supplier assumes that you export 50% of what you generate. So if you are paid 4.5p per kWh, you would work out: kWh generated x 4.5p x 50 etc. etc.

I don’t know if I switch it on would it work it out automatically or do I halve the export meter tariff?

Overall I would give it 9 out 10. It’s lost a point because I would have liked to have the same display as the geo monitor on line for pc tablets and mobile phone like the Elios4you that Jason 121 showed me but for price and the info it gives you at £199 its 10 out 10

I don’t need 29 days to test it I am going to keep it!!!

Will this monitoring system be effected by either all or certain proportional immersion control devices ???

or does it not use any CT clamps whatsoever and relies purely on optical sensors ??

Plus.... if this unit senses only your generation meter and your DNO meter - can it actually workout all the figs necessary especially the one I am mostly interested in marked *** ??

1. Precise Generation Figure
2. True Export Figure
3. Actual consumption in the house regardless of source ie. NOT net***

This does :) and it costs less and does more, you'll need a soldering iron though :) Home | OpenEnergyMonitor The LED at the top glows Green when exporting and Red when importing
I happen to have 3 CT's on it, though it will work fine with 2
on the left hand side
CT1 is House Consumption (CU side of Henley Block)
CT2 is Generation (PV Connection to Henley Block)
You could do a calculation as it can identify import export as shown on
CT3 is on the feed between the Meter and Henley block
All CT's are directional
On the Right hand side are the CT's on the three Inverter outputs. (I'm not worried about a 6W difference between the sum of those and CT2 that's still within 0.3% accuracy :) )
The CT's are Calibrated and Power is calculated based on the actual Voltage (also measured) Temperatures at the CT locations and monitor location are also recorded, The Inverter CT's are outside along with the Inverters (they're IP65 rated after all :) )
You can see the ImmerSun at work.

2 optical + 1 clamp
Hopefully this should answer most of your question

Yes
Yes
&

You get a touch screen monitor that give you all the information and you can look online even takes in to account your standing charge. With the chorus pv you get 2 sensors and one clamp.

Does everything the Elios4you does but cost less.

Don’t forget my mrs set this up apart from the internet side it’s that easy takes less than 10 minutes

Please don’t mix the geo products up this is not a solo model it’s a Geo Chorus pv model
