Hi everyone,

I've finally decided to register with elecsa and start on my own. I have individual robin testers that need calibrating. I cant decide whether to get them re-calibrated or buy a new megger 1552.
What do you guys think?

your choice. personally, i'd go for the 1552 ( loads of good 2nd hand ones going for £200+) and keep the separates as back up.

btw. my local cef are having a calibration day soon £30 for MFT , northwich, cheshire.

I'd go for the 1552 as well.

I was foreman on the 'new' Northwich Leisure Centre in the early nineties, is The Witch pub still there in town?

think it's gone mate. the main shopping street is now a brick pedestrian walk. i'll ask someone who's been here a while

all in ones are so much easier to carry and use. I use a unitest all in one. its alot smaller and lighter then the megga

i had a yellow lego block and it was great, consistent results etc. i just got a deal i could not turn down 18 months ago. i was supprised how much i got back for the robin. if you are going to get a new one i would keep hold of the robins though

Well done. Leads sound a bit high btw mine are 0.07 when warmed up. Rcd uplift - I either calculate Zs, or use the kitcher trick. See
