Sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

I'm 19 years old, i have passed 17th edition, 2330 level 2 and 2330 level 3, and i now need a cscs card to get on site.

The thing is my friend told me i can get the card without doing the test as i have level 2 and 3. Is this true?

And how would i go about this?

Many thanks...

Edit: lol can't even remember my bd

yes if you have completed your nvq 3 with in i think its the last three years then you don't need to take the health and safety test.

you need a ECS card it has the cscs card combined with it now, check the jib website for more info and the forms you need. here is a link to the page that you can download the forms and info about it.

ECS Form Download: ECS003R

hope this helps

To be exempted from the Health & Safety Assessment for the ECS card I presume it's the NVQ Level 3 he's referring to. This will give you a five year exemption.

The Technical Certificate itself will not exempt you from a Health & Safety Assessment.

if you don't have a certificate with level 3 NVQ on it then yes you will need to do the assessment. check out the download at the link i left for you, in the info for the forms it tells you what you need to not do the assessment. there are two or three other things that you can use to avoid the assessment, but i'm not sure if they will apply, they didn't for me

The H & S test isn't too deadly. Certainly easier than doing the 17th edition for example, so long as you study the answer book they send you once you register. Most of it is just common sense. So, unless there is some other reason that makes you hesitate, I wouldn't worry too much about it and just get on and do it.

I'm not worried at all, it's all general knowledge ( well most ), it's just i need it asap, just wanna get it quickly really.

Thanks all for you comments.

visit the CSCS site there is a book you can get with all the questions and answers and how to apply for a CSCS card or visit the JIB SJIB sites for advice on the ECS card

ask the jib but you may get either improver, labourer or trainee however this is better than basic cscs card if your looking at electrical work
