The question of DNO charges for relocating supply points of entry, service heads & meters is, I realise, a hot topic and the cause of great frustration and anger.
I'm hoping to get Northern Powergrid to move my own service head into a flush mounted external wall cabinet, on the opposite side of the wall from the existing location (i.e. back to back from where it is now) . The service comes into the house directly under the location so cable will not need lengthening but as it's 1927 PILS it will have to be cut and joined to a short piece of new cable I'm sure.
Has anyone experienced Northern doing a similar job recently and got any idea of roughly what they charged? Their web site doesn't seem to mention this type of job although it does suggest minimum charge to relocate a service cable is ÂŁ670.
Cheers!
