Hi all

Advice required as I may be picking up the tools again after 18 years.

Now I have my Scotvec and City & Guild certs from 1986-91 so would I be required to update any stuff for employment purposes?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum :)

Im afraid the regulations are somewhat unrecognisable from what I believe is the 15th edition you trained under, you may benefit from what we call a short course to bring you back up to speed but also to note is the industry is no longer as it was 30yrs ago so do your research too.

Thread relocated to appropriate section.

Regs changed midway thru my apprenticeship 14th to 15th (yellow to blue) IIRC, stayed on the tools for about 7 years after my time was out.

Whilst I appreciate regulations constantly change the principles don't so not I'm want to be treated like an idiot going on a money spinning course.

Last few years were spent specializing in Ex installations but that was before Compex (if that is what it is still called) was necessary.

Do the requirements/courses differ if your lucky enough to be north of Hadrian's Wall?
