getting into tv/ set electrics bbc

hi was wondering if anyone had any experince of getting a job as an electrician or L/d in the media whats the best way to go about it i am qualified electrician currently working for bbc alba just doing basic maintaince thought could be a start in pay poor and work boring though any advice would be appreciated.

hey work in the isle of lewis im a fully qualifed spark have been time served for about six years worked for various compamanies mainly domestic some comercial and industrial no much work for sparks on island the now im a gadhlig speaker and there was a job advertised as a maintaince kinda positon doing odd jobs some electrical but trying to learn as much as i can from the tech guys.

Oh right cool well the Bbc is always looking for sparks to work in the studios in Glasgow. It's a whole different ball game than sparking but the Bbc insist that you are a qualified spark to work in there tv studios

oh right cool would like a change may apply to some if there studios be a change any way see what its like mite get the c.vs out or just phone them up dunno best way of going about it mayb asking were im working just now have u had experience working on sets and did u enjoy it?

Yeh I do a lot of work in the Bbc the best way is to phone them up and ask to speak to the studio operations manager I don't think they employ many sparks but they are always looking for freelance labour
