Hi all,
I have a web site as can bee seen in signiture thing at bottom but what I want to know is I have loads of domain names that I want to point to my electricians site and am looking for the cheapest (hopefully free) way to do it i can link them but i want to run seo on the sites but don't want to pay more hosting charges to optimise search engine searches in several towns and citys. At the moment it is costing about ÂŁ30 a month and I don't want to pay much more for certain searches I am 1st page but only in 1 town. Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

Paul - let's get this straight - you have domain names only, or web sites sitting on them?

Domain forwarding is free, and can be accomplished in several ways. Who hosts your domains - it seems you're paying a lot for the hosting, for starters.

You can do SEO on forwarded domains too, relatively easily, using re-directs. In this case, you'd pull up a page which says something like "transferring you now".....which allows the SEO to work, and then re-directs to your actual pages.

To be utterly honest with you, the two websites you link to above both need serious work one way and another to get the best from them (and certainly aren't ÂŁ30 a month's worth of web hosting). You also have a number of limitations in using "free hosted" websites, such as the Vistaprint one - GGBO suffers similar shortcomings too - like trying to link the domain to a Google Apps account - which I still cannot figure out how to do.

Perhaps best bet would be to sit down and decide up front what it is you really want your web sites to achieve, and work on things from that angle. If we can help, we will.....

Thanks Bill,
Basically if you look for an electrician in Chesterfield and assosiated serches I seem to be up there but if you look under Sheffield, rotherham and doncvaster I am nowhere to be seen even though I use them as search terms in seo.
Also the ÂŁ30 is what I pay Vista I don't pay anyone else other than a couple of quid every other year for the domain names.
I am verymuch a biginner at this web page stuff but am also a tight arse esspecially as work is so slow at the moment.
I have a couple of domains that redirect to chesterfield-electrician but they are just the names as far as i know as i got them from 123 without hosting but I not sure how to access seo for them without having them hosted ( I think hosted is the right word?)

Hey Paul - first up, ÂŁ30 a month is a total rip off! What exactly are they giving you for that?

We have unlimited web hosting, which I currently have twelve domains sitting on, for ÂŁ3.30 including the VAT a month......

It's essential with the way work is to get the maximum out of everything we do - especially in areas like website design and marketing.....

Where you have your domains registered is important in that it's where you need to access them to get them to point somewhere else (e.g. to hosting you have - and yes, that is the right word :) )

It seems as though there's a few things you can do - aside from moving your hosting to a cheaper provider! Once you point the domains you have parked somewhere, you can set up re-direct pages, or simply have them point to the same space, and have them called in your main site too - either way works.

Let me know what your arrangement with Vista is, either here or PM me mate. We'll see what we can do from there.

chears Bill who are you with? and do you use an online design package or programme on pc then upload? as for vista i use their so called pro package but then you have to pay for seo on top etc etc.

Unlimited Web Hosting - ÂŁ2.75 plus VAT, no contract, unlimited space, domain hosting, email, you name it.

Our current site is built on Wordpress. Next one will be custom.

Wordpress is pretty cool, as aside from content it is pretty well plug and play, a million templates out there, and plug ins for just about anything including SEO etc.

You can point your domains from Vista and 123 to the space at unlimited - and it's pretty well yours to do what you want with too.
