Had a call last week to an elderly couple in a bungalow, The man of the house had been woking up at early hours of the morning (3:00am), He went into the bathroom still half asleep, Pulled the pull cord and the round glass center light just exploded, Glass shattered and flew all over the room aswell as the lamp its self.
I went to investigate!
I droped down the loft hatch and went up, up there was a neatly layed out fully filled area of loft insulation.
I pulled back the new loft insulation and saw all the old insualation, old water pipes, Pipe lagging, Old dissconected cables, JB's withouht lids on, Lighting Pendants used as JB's without tops screwed on. There was new central heating pipes clipped on joists resting across all lighting circuits, RFC, cooker ect..
I checked the switch live from the light to pullcord, and it ran against the radiator pipes in the loft.
Anyone else came across this before?
