I've recently for the first time had to purchase a pair of ÂŁ300 glasses because the rest of the world refuses, point blank, to come in to focus.

LED headlights coming the other way no longer blind me. :)

However I have also discovered that said coated varifocal lenses alternate between making me feel sick and putting my work environment in 4K resolution.

Do any experienced spectacle wearers have any advice?

Hated varifocals myself...although I’m assured they just take some getting used to, not do rme though

me to I started wearing them 4years ago ,how it started I kept walking in to lamp posts ,lol.

I have varifocals, and yes - it took a while to get used to them.
I now need a single visions set just for working on the computer, because using the close vision section of the varifocals means having to tip my head back and it makes my neck hurt.
And then I think I might need another set for close up work - closer than either set are made for. I have wondered about tri-focals with a close-up section at the top as well as the bottom - for when working on stuff overhead etc. I know some pilots need them so they can see the panel of switches/gauges above the windscreen in some aircraft. But I suspect that means extra kerching at the cash register.

I've had spectacles since my early 20s but never varifocals. Tried and failed to get on with contact lenses, they seemed to dry up on my eyeballs like ever tightening suction cups.

It was nice to not have to take off and clean my glasses for the 3 month trial but horrible putting them in and taking them out.

I'd recommend 2 pairs instead of varifocals, preferably in a sale where they do buy one get one free.

I have worn varifocal contact lenses for many years and they are great. However, contact lenses are not for everyone, as some folks have drier eyes. I am fortunate in that the prescription is the same for both eyes which saves hassle and means I always have spares.
However, I agree that working on a PC requires a "head up" posture, or adjusting your seating, and additionally I need a set of "cheaters" (cheapo reading glasses) for very close work.
