They're great pieces of kit, I have a couple of very similar looking megger testers which were the UK versions by Evershed and Vignoles

I used to have an antique Westinghouse single trace oscilloscope and it worked great
I had it in the display case and it vanished.
(someone found out the crt tube was coated with gold instead of lead (inner anode)

I love vintage equipment
Im hoping to score this gem
to display in my shop.
even if it never gets used its a beauty
Vintage James Biddle Megger Ground Resistance Meter Tester | eBay

Biddle was a US respected established company that Megger used in the States to sell Megger test equipment. Megger eventually bought the Biddle company, and is slowly but surely dropping the Biddle name in favour of the Megger Trade Mark.

My favourite Ductor Tester was the Biddle D007.... That equipment was mounted in a wooden box too ...lol!!

I have an identical one that works perfectly. In fact I don't remember seeing one that didn't work, so it would be a fairly safe bet. Of course once you've got that, you'll need the rest of the set that were made in matching cases: - 500V insulation tester, 2500V insulation tester, battery-powered Ducter, Bridge Megger...

Sorry to hear about your 'scope, people can be very stupid at times!
